Create Your Hero Results

Remember Sprint’s Create Your Hero from last season? The results are in!

Your votes have been counted and Santiago is the winner of Create Your Hero. Check back soon for more updates and on November 10th, Santiago will star in a new online live action series.

Winner!
Santiago

Santiago is twenty three. He is an only child, and lives with his mother in a poor part of Lima. He works as an auto mechanic, but has a burning desire to go out in the world and accomplish something that will make his mother truly proud.

Santiago lost his father years ago to the Peruvian civil war. He carries that loss in his heart, but has found solace in the teachings of the Catholic church. Santiago attends mass every Sunday, in a local cathedral which was built by the Spanish Conquistadors more than four hundred years ago.

One Sunday after service, he discovers that he’s indeed very special. During a weekly soccer match with friends, he gets the ball and as he turns towards the goal, something incredible happens. Looking down the field he suddenly sees everything as grid. Quickly scanning the other players, he sees all their possible maneuvers and blocks — determining the best way to make a goal. He has the power of accelerated probability. Not only that but he realizes he can run super fast! Combined, the two abilites make him unstoppable. He takes off, dodging every attempted block and scoring a goal as his friends look on, astonished.

Santiago immediately loves his powers and uses them to become the star of his soccer team. He believes his abilities are a gift from God though, and feels strongly they should only be used for good.

  1. I’m still disappointed in this whole thing. Seriously… can they not come up with new powers? It took a year to create a character that already has two powers on the show? [Daphne and Hiro's father]

  2. This looks awesome, especially the liquid girl! I remember however that his power was enhanced probability, despite his original super speed power. Is this how they’re depicting the probability? Does he go super fast since he doesn’t have to think about it? Looks awesome none-the-less, although so did “Going Postal.” Hopefully the production level is higher.

  3. @Frank Deleted scenes aren’t necessarily canon. They could have not aired that so as to make room for Santiago (extremely unlikely). Also, the character profiles were come up with about 9 months ago. Daphne was probably created after this.

  4. Interesting. I am not too keen on the super speed thing. I really was hoping that if Heroes used superspeed they would make him like the Flash from the TV series and some of the comic lines where he gets extremely hungry after running. But Daphne has unlimited speed and range and shows now after effects. Now Santiago seems the same.

  5. Well at least it’s something.

  6. Probably because of the sme reason Jesse ended up with sound ability like Echo. Cost. They’ve given him Daphne’s ability to save money

  7. Probably, but if they chose Santiago over Audrey for that reason while Audrey had the most votes, then it would defeat the purpose of having us vote..

  8. True. I believe the majority voted for Santiago but his ability regarding probabilities didn’t have to overlap with superspeed. I certainly wouldn’t have voted for him if I knew the super speed issue. They probably planned superspeed to begin with and justified it with whatever power was picked.

  9. Yeah, they probably had the same superpower in mind for Daphne already.. Duplicating an “old” power doesn’t seem unusual for Heroes.. like Matt & Maury, Nathan & West, Echo & Jesse, and now Daphne & Santiago. And while Peter & Sylar have two very different abilities, they both can get powers from others.

  10. It’s ages since I voted so I didn’t realise they’d already made there mind up about his ability BEFORE season 3 if he was to be used

  11. Gah, NBC. Making us think.
