The German got away
I apologize for the lateness of this post. The new voicemail, email and text message came in yesterday afternoon, but i’ve been busy remodeling our master bathroom [that's a good excuse, right?].
First, the text message:
Thompson’s been receiving a high volume of voicemails. Check them out on ur comp at boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?showtopic=63845
B. The email:
I’m not so sure that 9th wonders is the safest place for me to be posting anymore. I’m searching for a new outlet. I’ve posted a few more of Thompson’s voicemails so you’re all in the loop of everything that’s going on in and out of the Company. Check the thread: http://boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?showtopic=63845&st=150&gopid=688124entry688124
3, the voicemail:

Transcript: Our European friend got away. There’s no need for pestering [pasture finding?]. He won’t bother anyone else. You need to check out this 9th Wonders thing. I think they’re on to us. The mole may be getting deeper. I’ll check in later.
So, how did The German get away? And why won’t he be bothering anyone else?

the german got away on the plane when EVS said her operatives were able to retreive him. Don’t know about why he won’t bother anyone else though. Maybe they planted something on him. Or maybe they gave him the power cancelling serum.

But did he escape or did they let him go? I mean if they bagged and tagged him he’s fine. Isn’t he?

I thought the plan was to make sure the Company got away with him, but now I have to wonder if he wasn’t just hitching a ride to the States where Evs’ allies could pick him up… or was this message actually to Thompson about the fact that they managed to get the German away from Berlin safely? I’m confused.

IMHO, this message is actually to Thompson about the fact that they managed to get the German away from Berlin safely. (quoting Tarot, too lazy to type it myself.) I believe the confusion arises from the fact that we, as players in the ARG, know there is no ‘Thompson’ so our voice mails are generally directed towards Evs. An ARG character on the other hand, is leaving a message for Thompson, see Dekkers message. The fact that Evs intercepts and then posts some voice mails only adds to the confusion.
On another slant, if they actually mean the German got away, it could mean Evs and associates intercepted and aided his escape from company agents once they arrived state side. Either way, the message is directed at Thompson. Don’t be surprised if a Blake Thompson suddenly appears on the 9th. Thinking we may know something about the identity of Evs.

I’ve been directing my calls to Thompson… all 4 of them. I know Evs is listening but it’s Thompson’s voicemail.

It’s listed as Thompson’s Voicemail though I know Evs can eavesdrop on what I say. That’s how I’ve been interacting with it.

The message was addressed to Thompson. They were informing him that the German got away which is consistent with EVS previously stating that her operatives rescued the German (remember the airplane puzzle). I would like to know why the caller believes the German will not cause any problems and I believe it is because they gave him the serum that eliminates powers. Clearly, the Company would not bag and tag and release someone with that level of power so if they couldn’t get him to join them, they would likely take away his powers like they tried to do with Syler.

I think you hit the nail right on the head there sdlaw. That’s gotta be exactly right, it makes sense. They’ve done it before, or, tried to, they’ll keep doing it.
